Year 6 Poetry

This week in literacy we have been focusing on poetry writing. We read examples of war poetry from poets such as Rupert Brooke and Dr. John McCrae. We then wrote our own to share at the war memorial during our Remembrance ceremony.

We have also been creating poems with an environmental theme. We chose our environmental issue and then created powerful words and phrases around it using a thesaurus to up-level our vocabulary. These powerful words and phrase then formed the basis of our poems which we have published for display.  Here are some example, we hope you enjoy sharing them.
