This week's learning in year six

This week's blog was written by Maddy and Oliver (Joe helped as well)

Throughout this week, we have been writing biographies on some of the most famous artists/singers of all time. We go the option to write out of four singing legends: Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and John Lennon. On Wednesday, while some children were playing in a rugby tournament, the rest of the class had a go at drawing the artist we were writing a biography for. We worked on the skill of shading.

Here are some photos of our biographies:

In P.E this week, we practised some more cricket skills. We practised our accuracy on hitting the ball down a line to try and get a 6. We also continued to work on our dancing.

In R.E we learnt about Hindu pilgrimages. That is where a Hindu travels to a sacred space. Most Hindus have to do this once in there life.

In our strike the right note topic we started to write our own songs and lyrics. We looked at the Beatles song 'Penny Lane' to get an idea on how to write the lyrics.

As part of music, we read music and played some instruments. Some of the instruments we played were: a glockenspiel; percussion instruments and the keyboard.
