Y6 Creative Homework - Theme Park (Deadline: Monday 6th July 2015)

CREATIVE HOMEWORK

…has been designed to offer an opportunity for children to assume more responsibility in choosing, organising, presenting and taking an active role in their learning.  Children must complete a minimum of 5 out of the 9 tasks by Monday 6th July 2015. Any children not completing at least five tasks (one per week) will be required to work at lunchtime to catch up.
The order of the tasks, the choice of tasks and the frequency of handing in each piece of work is up to the child.  ICT can be used as and where appropriate and if desired. Homework designs are completely up to the individual.
This opportunity will enhance children’s learning, help prepare them for secondary school by taking responsibility for their homework and also make homework more enjoyable.

1.     Design an advertisement encouraging people to visit your Theme Park.

2.     Make a model of one of the rides/attractions in your Theme Park

3.     Collect any data related to the Fun Fairs/Theme Parks (e.g. children’s favourite activity) and produce a graph or chart of your findings.

4.     Create a map of your Theme Park labelling the different activities/attractions/facilities.

5.     Design a daily or weekly programme of events for your Theme Park. What is on? Where? When?

6.     Create a menu for the Theme Park café/restaurant. What is available? How much will each food/drink cost?

7.     Create a presentation (format and style of your choice) about the artist Dale Chihuly.

8.     Write a diary extract about a visit to a Theme Park. It can be real or imaginary. What did you particularly enjoy or dislike? How did you feel about the rides etc?

9.     Design and create a Theme Park based Top Trumps game. You could include speed/height/cost/thrill factor etc or your own categories.

Please note:
When handing in homework, children must put their name on each piece and tick off the homework chart in the classroom.
