This week in year 6 has been full of exciting activities and new learning.
In Mrs Lawrence's class, we learnt about the circulatory system and we built models with: Lego, multilink, clixi and more. We also watched a video explaining how the circulatory system works and about red blood cells.
In P.E, we competed in a netball match with our peers; we also completed some laps of the infant field (cross country). On Wednesday, some children had been invited to a cross country race however due to poor weather conditions it was forced to be called off and organised for a different day.
On Thursday, the boys football team and Amy played a football match against Myland - Kelvedon won 2-0.
In P.S.H.E this week, we discussed how to stay healthy with independence and how important it is to have a balanced diet and keep exercising.
In Literacy this week, we completed an art scene to help us with our writing; we based it on Shakespeare's Macbeth (The Scottish Play). We used charcoal and white chalk to create a misty/gloomy background and pressed a little harder to make the silhouette of the witches. The next day, we wrote the first scene of Macbeth and tried to use descriptive and emotive language such as: gloomy, tempest, imposing, mysterious, depressed, sinister and ominous e.t.c
Finally, for music we created '2 minute master pieces' for Macbeth; we used lots of different hand held instruments to create it.
