As part of our WW2 topic, the children would like to cook a recipe that may have been eaten by children in 1940.
They have learnt about the 'dig for victory' campaign and some of the vegetables that would have been grown in gardens and allotments at the time.
In small groups, the children are going to prepare a slow cook vegetable stew and will need to bring in a suitable quantity of one vegetable each to contribute towards this. e.g. 2/3 carrots / potatoes. The children have chosen the vegetables they would like to use.
Store cupboard essentials, such as tinned tomatoes and thickening ingredients will be supplied by the school.
Any questions, please come and speak to your child's class teacher.
Mr Faithfull and Mrs Lawrence
