WWII Make do and Mend

Ladies from The Church Outreach Group visited us to talk about the period during WWII when money and goods were scarce and people had to ‘make do and mend’.

We were able to try the following activities: patchwork, darning socks, sewing on buttons, rag rug making, collar turning, crocheting and knitting socks.
